This page is a compendium of my work with Jazz Guitar Legend and good friend Larry Coryell

(7/28/05)

I am officially editing the newest CD to be on the boards for Larry. It is tentatively entitled (say that 15 times backwards with a mouthfull of raw cabbage and I SWEAR TO GOD you will be my friend forever) "Live in Seattle" and will ONLY be available from www.LarryCoryell.net, sometime soooooooooon, probably September '05. It will feature some killin' new blues takes and a duet with Tracey Piergross, my ex-flame. In addition, Larry has composed a tune to Tracey called...ahem..."Tracey" and it will probably become a standard as it is soaked wih passion and cool chords as well as a gorgeous melody. Laurentian ( as I call him) finally took my advice and is self-producing CD's, so buy one and make me look good!

For the Larry Coryell guitar auction that I am the administrator of, go to: www.coryellguitars.4t.com

The most recent finished work are the "Gypsy Blood" and "Voodoo Crossing" CDs, available through Amazon, B+N, or the home label: www.cometrecords.com.  (For more on my recent work with Maestro Coryell, please go to the "Pascual Lives" page.) On the Gypsy / Voodoo  recordings, I played bass, did drum programming, recorded all tracks, co-produced and then  edited in Sound Forge, mastering the tracks as well.

Larry's son Murali sings "House Burning Down" from Voodoo Crossing. Drum overdubs by the ultra-famous Danny Gottlieb.

Original cover Art for "Live In Chicago" by PSM

Cover Art by PSM for "Reunion" CD, a live recording of Count's Jam Band in Hollywood at the famous Key Club and at the Anaheim Hilton, NAMM 2001. Not available for sale, sorry!

In addition to these I have edited the audio for the "Live In Chicago", "Cedars of Avalon","Concerto de le Cote d'Opale", and "Sentenza Deo Cuore" CD's. We also orchestrated and recorded the "Concerto de Aranjuez" which Larry performed live on Japanese TV for 9 million people. Next up: "Live in Seattle"

I accompanied Mr. Coryell to NAMM 2001 as tech support where he represented CORT guitars, performing with Edgar Winter and many others.

Paul Santa Maria (L) Larry Coryell (R) Barnes and Noble book signing and live performance, April 2002

Excerpt from Larry's liner notes on Voodoo CD: "Many praises have gone to Eddie Kramer for recording Jimi "back in the day". I'd like to shower similar kudos to Paul Santa Maria for his great ear for recording a guitar; he has a knack for making a guitar sound strong and fat; Paul turned out to be my Eddie Kramer"

Thanks Larry!
