Jazz-Fusion
In the '70's, Jazz-Fusion or Jazz-Rock was the craze with musicians because it afforded the absolute freedom to rev up your engine and blow the walls out with complex, riff-driven, uptempo music that stretched the outer limits of what players could do. These are examples of bands I was in and composed music for, a legacy to a framework without a frame, a life without boundaries and also bands without record deals! SSS was slated to be signed to the productions of Chick Corea, who then disbanded his own group "Return To Forever". Too bad for me as a reknowned artist, but at least you can still hear the music.
Keating, Shirley and Santa Maria - "KSS"
Actually the follow-up to SSS, this band had myself on guitar, bass and synth at once, Tom Shirley on drums and the genius Jerry Keating on keyboards and the other author, who wrote the piece "Dragonpath" See SSS trio below.
Shirley, Schwab and Santa Maria - "SSS"
My best band ever. This was pure magic and probably why Chick Corea was going to sign us....before he met the beautiful and talented Gayle Moran and summarily fired everyone to begin life anew with this woman of his dreams. At least they're still married! But if it weren't for her...............
